Frequently Asked Questions
Who owns this unit? This is a privately owned unit. We (the owners) are a Fort Collins couple who love snowboarding and all other outdoor mountain activities. However, we don't like driving on I-70 in ski traffic, so we bought this place! This is our only rental property, and is more like a second home that we are happy to share.
Who manages this unit? This unit is managed by Great Western Lodging, located in Breckenridge, Colorado. Since we are located a few hours away, this provides you with local support for anything you might need. In fact, GWL maintains a small office at the Riverbend Lodge for on-site needs. Full details regarding key pickup, payment, and assistance during your stay will be provided at the time your reservation is confirmed. By renting directly through us, you will receive a discount from the normal GWL prices.
What is the parking situation? With a reservation, guests are alloted one parking pass for a vehicle to park in the heated underground garage located at the condo. Additional parking must use the Town of Breckenridge Free or Pay lots. Overnight parking requires Registration and vehicles must be parked at the Ice Arena Lot (Overnight parking is at the far end of the lot and is clearly marked by signs). If these links are broken, information can be found at the Town of Breckenridge site by clicking on "I WANT TO..."->"Learn About"->"Free"\"Pay Parking Lots".
Where can I get lift tickets and rental gear? The closest (and very convenient) place is immediately next to the Snowflake Lift loading area. This building has both a ticket window and a gear rental shop called Charter Sports. At Charter Sports, mention that you are staying at the Riverbend Lodge and you will receive a 30% discount!
Can I bring my pets? Sorry, our HOA does not permit guests to bring pets of any type.
Is smoking allowed in the unit? This unit and all building areas are strictly non-smoking.
When does the SnowFlake lift typically open? It depends on snow conditions and the status can be found on the Breckenridge Mountain website. We plan to update our website with details as they become available. In 2008 the Snowflake Lift was open on December 5th. Snowflake Lift is open for the 2009/2010 season as of Nov 27th!
What time do the lifts start loading? Loading begins at 8:30 AM for the Snowflake Lift, 9:00 for base lifts, and 9:30 for Lift C.
What are the deposit and cancellation terms and conditions? Our basic Terms and Conditions are shown at the bottom of the Rates and Availability page. We will include full terms with the official quote.
